District of Columbia

After a visit to Virginia, my dad and I visited the District of Columbia as part of a 'road trip' vacation on Wednesday August 17, 2011. This was my first time in this area.

While in the District of Columbia (in the City of Washington), we visited the National Air and Space Museum along the National Mall.

Afterwords, we looked at the Capital building, the White House, and the Washington Monument.

We then drove towards Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

In April of 2018, my 8th grade class took a trip to northern Virginia, Washington D.C., Baltimore, Maryland, and to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

In Washington D.C., we visited the Thomas Jefferson Memorial and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. We then toured the Washington National Cathedral and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. After that, we visited the National Museum of African American History and Culture; walked by The White House; and visited the Albert Einstein Memorial; Lincoln Memorial; Korean War Memorial; The Three Soldiers statue; Vietnam Memorial; and the National WWII Memorial.

The next day, we had a tour of the United States Capital; visited inside the Library of Congress; walked past the Supreme Court; and visited the National Air and Space Museum, National Museum of Natural History, National Museum of American History, and the Newseum.

We then went to Baltimore, Maryland.
