I was in South Dakota for the first time on Labor Day weekend in September of 2016. I was with my dad and a friend on a mini road trip. We stayed at the Mount Rushmore Resort at Palmer Gulch.

In South Dakota, we visited Mount Rushmore; Crazy Horse; and Jewel Cave in the Black Hills National Forest.

We then visited a corner of Wyoming.

After returning to South Dakota, we visited the Badlands National Park; the Minuteman Missile National Historic Site; and the Wall Drug Store.

Back at Palmer Gulch:

On our last full day, we visited Mount Rushmore again; spent time at Rushmore Tramway Adventures; and visited the South Dakota Air and Space Museum at Ellsworth Air Force Base.

We then flew home from Rapid City.
