Colorado

I was in Colorado in August of 2015 for the first time, while on a road trip with my dad and a friend. After flying into Denver and renting a vehicle, we visited the Dumant / Idaho Springs area and went on zip-lines and a river raft. We then had dinner at Tommyknocker in Idaho Springs.

We then drove to Glenwood Springs and stayed at the Glenwood Canyon Resort. While in Glenwood Springs, we went on another raft trip.

Our next stop was in Grand Junction where we visited the Colorado National Monument.

We then drove to Silverton for a mine tour.

From Silverton, we took a jeep tour into the mountains and to Animas Forks, a former mining town that is now a ghost town.

We then went to Durango and traveled on the famous Durango narrow gauge railroad; hopping off the train to do the Soaring Tree Top Zip-line Adventure.

After Durango, we visited Mesa Verde and toured Balcony House and the Cliff Palace.

We then drove the far southwest part of Colorado and visited the four-corners monument where Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah meet.

We then drove to New Mexico.

After visiting New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah; we returned to Colorado. Our first stop, after a night in Grand Lake at the Gateway Inn, was the Rocky Mountain National Park.

We then returned to Denver via part of Peak to Peak; Colorado's oldest scenic byway; and Boulder Canyon Drive along Boulder Creek.

While in Denver, we drove by the 'mile high' stadium; visited the Denver Zoo; and visited the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum, where we did the Aviation Extreme flight simulators.

We then did some indoor skydiving at iFLY.

We finished our trip by flying home from Denver.
